Between 2003/4 and 2005/6 the class was co-taught by Katarzyna Mikulska, a Polish philologist and Mesoamericanist, who is now a postdoctoral researcher and the head of the Department of Spanish and Latin American History and Culture at the Iberian Studies Department of Warsaw University. For many years she has been conducting research on pre-Hispanic calendar, religious books and ancient writing systems. She collaborates with many renowned journals such as Arqueología Mexicana and Anales de Antropología. She co-organized the Warsaw Maya Meeting 2 conference.
